A big part of keeping food exciting for me, and not feeling deprived means finding amazing substitutions. Here are some of my favorite ingredients:
- greek yogurt
- apple sauce
- almond milk
- dates
- egg whites
- beans/garbanzos
Why the substitutions?
I have no food allergies, lucky me! (however, I’ve got loads of seasonal allergies that aren’t fun). Despite the lack of food allergies, I am always seeking out interesting substitutions, for the sake of:
- getting healthier/staying healthy
- watching calories
- ensuring I’ve got enough protein in my diet given how active I am
- eating really yummy things that taste like they just couldn’t be good for me
