Substitution Favorites

A big part of keeping food exciting for me, and not feeling deprived means finding amazing substitutions.  Here are some of my favorite ingredients:

  • greek yogurt
  • apple sauce
  • almond milk
  • dates
  • egg whites
  • beans/garbanzos

Why the substitutions?

I have no food allergies, lucky me!  (however, I’ve got loads of seasonal allergies that aren’t fun).  Despite the lack of food allergies, I am always seeking out interesting substitutions, for the sake of:

  • getting healthier/staying healthy
  • watching calories
  • ensuring I’ve got enough protein in my diet given how active I am
  • eating really yummy things that taste like they just couldn’t be good for me
